Finishes Explained
Clear sealant
The surface is cleaned and sealed with a clear coat. It's identical to how the steel looks straight from the mill. This industrial material will have inconsistencies and blemishes on its surface. Not suited for outdoor use.
Industrial dark
The natural color of this steel is a dark charcoal. Even with the clear sealant, it retains more of a matte sheen. The heat mark stripe runs down the center on one side. This industrial material will have inconsistencies and blemishes on its surface. Not suited for outdoor use.
Satin Black powder coat
Powder coating is an environmentally friendly alternative to paint. Our black is fine textured, and has a soft granular feel. The sheen on the Satin Black is minimal.
Gloss White powder coat
This finish is a striking pure white, that accentuates the simple lines of the design. The high gloss sheen is shiny and smooth. People often pair this with a table top that is lighter color.
Silver Metallic powder coat
This is a special two step process. A base of Metallic Silver with a high gloss 2nd coat is applied. The base coat has tiny specs in it to give dimension. Our most protective finish.
Antiqued Copper Patina
We achieve this finish with a special metal oxide process. Then, we use a clear sealant to preserve the color and the steel. The result is a finish that resembles an aged metal with a character-rich, copper rust hue. Not suited for outdoor use.
Blackened oxide
For this one, we start with the lighter colored steel. Then it gets chemically oxidized, causing it to blacken. It is not a perfect black. There is a slight blue and you can still see brownish/red streaks where the chemical inconsistently oxidized the metal. The sheen is a mid/high gloss. Not suited for outdoor use.
